The Great Civill War

William Farmer Esq was slain in a fight in Hambleton on 27th November, 1642. The battles at Brayton and Hambleton were minor battles in Fairfax’s operation during the civil war.
The English Civil War is a term used for a series of civil wars between Royalists and Parliamentarians in England and Wales from 1642 to 1652. Fairfax a Parliamentarian who eventually won the Battle of Selby which was a disaster for the Royalists
