Jack managed to sign up when underage and got the biggest telling off in his life when serving abroad he met his brother. He is pictured with his dog Blackie which he was unable to bring home when he returned to England.
Jack England married Edith Howcroft in 1950 and they were both very active in several aspects of village life. Jack was one of the organisers of the youth club for a number of years.
