Violet was born and bought up in Hambleton. She was born in December, 1919 to Albert & Blanche and her siblings were Leslie, Alfred, Edith, Charles Albert (Bert), Audrey, Edgar and Alec. They lived in East View Terrace for number of years.
Violet married Albert Cowley in the summer of 1944. Albert and Violet were living in Chapel Street in 1948, 1949 and 1950 when the electoral rolls were completed but not in the 1951 roll.
