Albert & Blanche Howcroft celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary

Albert was born and bought up in Hambleton. He was born in May, 1886 to James and Sarah Ann (nee Sayner) and his siblings were James Thomas and William. He married Blanche Talbot on 18th April, 1914 who was born in Peckfield but in 1911 was working for the Gibson Family and living in the Red Lion.
Albert joined the Prince of Wales Own (Yorkshire) Regiment in September 1914 and was later transferred to the Royal Regiment of Artillery. In 1939 Albert was working as a joiner.
They had eight children Leslie, Alfred, Violet, Edith Charles Albert, Audrey, Edgar and Alec. They lived in East View Terrace for a number of years also in Beech Tree Farm. Albert died in 1976 and Blanche in 1983.
