Lodge Farm

On the 1798 Enclosure Award Map the area that this farm is in was owned by Mary Smith. The 1939 Register shows a Mary Smith living in the Lodge, which given its position in the property listings it is very likely to have been Lodge Farm. Her role at that time was unpaid domestic, but no-one else was listed as living there.
In 1953 an advertisement for the sale of Lodge Farm read Freehold farm offered for sale. Farm adjoining the main Selby-Leeds road, consisting of stone built farmhouse, good range of farm buildings including cow house for 14. 7.972 acres arable land 8.531 acres grass land. Vacant possession on completion. Sale date 30th March.
When the property became a private dwelling has still to be clarified. If you have any information we would love to hear from you.
