The decision was taken at the AGM in January 2017 to leave the Yorkshire Country Women’s Association, but the members felt it important to continue to have the monthly meetings. The Wednesday Club was formed with a less formal structure but felt it important to have a Committee and Mrs Betty Hairsine was elected Chair, Mrs Ingird Millington Treasurer and Celia Barnes Secretary. The program is decided by the Club Member at the AGM in January, so everyone has the opportunity to influence the years activities. The Club continue to meet on the last Wednesday of each month as before. The aim is to provide the opportunity for ladies from the village to meet and socialise. The program includes various talks, craft activities and the essential tea and biscuits.
