Hillside Farm

The land where this farm stood was owned by J. Saynor in 1798. A newspaper report stated that William Thomas Smith the owner had died. In 1918 the farm was purchased by Albert Douglas Brown and it appears to have remained in the Brown family until it was sold to George Patterson in 1946 who sold it to Robert Jervis in 1952. Robert Jervis lived in Hillside Farm, with his family many of whom were doctors. His father came to live in Hillside when he retired from his roll of Medical Officer for Health for Leeds. Harry Hey purchased the property in 1958. At some time, possibly in the 1970s the property became a private dwelling with no land.
