Hambleton School Black House Basketball team 1921

Hambleton was the first school in the Selby & District section to organise a full sports program for the girls. Basketball was being adopted by many secondary schools as being the national game for girl students of the United States of America. As no other elementary schools were playing the matches were all between the various houses in the school. The Black’s team won the House Championship and included M. Goldthorpe, A. Longfield, E. Waddingham and M. Clark.
