Many of the items were sold in glass bottles and jars which could be returned providing they were clean and were bearing the Anson Brothers name or label on. Once received the accounts would be credited with an amount depending on what had been returned. The gallon glass pickle jars and 14lb jam jars were worth 3/- (three shillings) per dozen.
