The War Memorial was erected on 9th November, 2018. Both the Church and Chapel installed war memorials after the end of the First world War but there was not a memorial that recognised all those lost in other conflicts. A resident who had researched the men from the village who lost their lives in the First World War asked the Parish Council to consider a war memorial outside which would always be accessible to villagers. After much discussion the style and position of the monument were agreed. Funds were provided by both the Parish Council and Councillor Chris Pearson’s Community Fund.
