The display commemorating the Nurses in the First World War was part of a Flower Festival August 2018

A flower festival was held in St Mary’s to commemorate those who fought and died in the First World War on the 25th, 26th and 27th August, 2018. The date was chosen as it was as near as possible to the date that Harris Hartus Anson was killed on 31st August, 1918. The South Window in the Church was purchased by his parents in his memory. There were many beautiful flower arrangements provided by organisations and individuals from the village. The festival ran for three days and was well attended. The money raised went to support the work of the Church.
