Bull Garth

All parcels of land, however small or large, have an official Title Deed issued by the Land Registry, but landowners and farmer often refer to individual fields by giving them names. Bull Garth is one example. Bull Garth was sold for housing development in 1975, with the Garth Estate and part of Westcroft Lane being constructed by Squire Swift and Persimmon. The photograph shows the completion of Garth Close, in the centre, and properties having been erected along Bar Lane, which had been part of the chicken farm owned by the Newbould family. The Garth estate was completed in the late 1980’s.
