Roll of Honour

The names of the members of Hambleton Wesleyan Church and Sunday School who joined his Majesty’s Forces are listed on a Roll of Honour in the Chapel. Those that survived the conflict are: John Bainbridge, Tom Berriman, George Bussey, Arthur Craven, Richard Flint, Robert Hall, Albert Horesfield, Thomas Issatt, Edward Lilley, Joseph Sayner, Arthur France, Ernest Newby, Jameas Parker, Maurice Parker, Albert Pearse, Lancelot Robinson, Jesse Stoker, Horace Terry, Edward Parker, Hartley Robinson. Those listed who sadly lost their lives from Hambleton were Percy Bainbridge, Alvey Jagger, and William Middleton. William Thornton and Ernest Adams lived in the surrounding villages.
