The two great west window were designed by Ward & Hughes in London and presented to the church in memory of William Thomas Smith and his son also named William Thomas who died when still a child. The gift was made by Mrs Mary Ann Smith and her daughters. The 1861 census recorded 4 daughters the eldest being Mary Margaret.
