The original scheme designed by John Loughborough Pearson included a font and pulpit which would be transferred from St Wilfred’s at Brayton but there is doubt that this actually happened. The origins of the font have not been verified. However, one of the older residents remembers a font being found in a garden which was cleaned up and put in the church. The belief at the time was that this was the font from the 1425 Church in the village, research is underway to try to find details of this Church. The cover however came from St. Michael’s Cottingley but remained unused until 1980 when Mr. Steel made a base which enabled it to fit the font and carved a dove on the underside.
