There have been various fetes, galas and funfair events over the years but we have very little information. The first gala was in 1977, for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Mrs Holland, who was the headmistress at the time, thought that the village should mark this event, and wrote to the Parish Council asking if a member would go along with people from all the other organisations in the village. Memories, so far, of what took place are limited but it was held a beautiful warm and sunny day.
The year afterwards there was the feeling that the village wanted to continue and the committee who were there continued. There are photographs on the site of 1981 but we would love more information or photographs if you can help.
